The German Team Mücke Motorsport from Berlin will be on start at the Formula 3 Macau Grand Prix in China from 15th to 18th of November with three drivers. The two pilots of the current Formula 3 Euro Series (season finale from 19 th to 21st of October in Hockenheim) Felix Rosenqvist (Sweden) and Pascal Wehrlein (Germany) are in on it on this more than 6 kilometres long city course through street canyons for the racing stable from the German capital city, as well as the new signing Mitchell Gilbert from Australia (all of them in a Dallara Mercedes). Gilbert just finished the German ATS Formula 3 Cup with overall position four.
„We are already looking forward to our second appearance in Macau“, team principal Peter Mücke said. „And we want to score a win at one of the most important Formula 3 races, where the world wide offspring elite fights about the best placings. Our drivers and our cars as well as the whole team have it in themselves.“ Last year, Mücke Motorsport scored an excellent fourth placing of their Japanese guest driver Yuhi Sekiguchi on this track in the former Portuguese colony.
The 20 year old Rosenqvist fosters special hopes for the topmost podium placing on his third consecutive participation (two times for Mücke Motorsport) in Macau. „Macau is the absolute highlight of the year, and the greatest challenge you can face as a driver in Formula 3,” says Felix Rosenqvist. “I’m really looking forward to it, particularly considering the positive autumn we’ve had in Formula 3 Euro Series and the FIA European F3 Championship.“
And also Peter Mücke is very confident about Rosenqvist, who is on overall position five at the moment at the F3 Euro Series. „Felix is on a roll since a few races at the Formula 3 Euro Series, scored wins and he is very fast on track. Of course, he can also benefit from his experience on the city course. And his misfortune of last year in Macau he ticked off long ago. Felix is able to win the Macau Grand Prix“, the team principal of Mücke Motorsport thinks.
