Only a race win will do for FFF Racing Team and its drivers Edoardo Liberati and Andrea Amici when the GT Asia Series resumes at Thailand’s state-of-the-art Chang International Circuit (11-12 June).
FFF Racing enters the second round of the 2016 GT Asia season after former Formula 1 star Vitantonio Liuzzi and Andrea Caldarelli raced the team’s new Lamborghini Huracan GT3 to a podium finish on its debut in the ultra-competitive International GT Open last weekend (4-5 June).
Reams of data was gathered and lots of driver feedback given at the French event and this will be carried between Europe and Asia for both Liberati and Amici to assimilate before they take to the Chang International Circuit in anger.
This new and large bank of information can only benefit the two Lamborghini junior drivers, who acquitted themselves well by racing to the podium during their first ever GT3 race weekend in the GT Asia curtain-raiser in South Korea, and that’s why all eyes are on the top step of the winners’ rostrum in Buriram, Thailand.
FFF Racing Team Owner, Sean Fu Songyang, said: “Both Edoardo Liberati and Andrea Amici acquitted themselves well in the opening round of the 2016 GT Asia Series, but we knew they’re be very strong, well-rounded and professional racers having come through Lamborghini’s young driver academy.
“We would like to think we can win one of the two races at the Chang International Circuit, although we can’t underestimate the challenge, because the Bentleys were quick last time out and both of our guys carry pit stop penalties for their podium result in Korea and for being silver graded drivers. They have both been preparing for the weekend on the simulator, we know the track well, having raced there in 2015, so I expect to hit the ground running. In addition, the information gathered by Tonio Liuzzi and Andrea Caldarelli in the International GT Open will be invaluable and I have no doubt that we have taken a step forward because of that.”
