Victory as a reward for hard work

Luck was on I.S.R. Racing side during the Sunday and Sam Bird takes second win of the season! Driver of the Czech team was able to take advantage of pole position man mistake and moved up to second place. Leading duo started pull away from his pursuers slowly, but Marco Sorensen could always response on Sam’s fast times. Towards the end of the race Sam Bird increasingly plagued by misfiring engine on fifth and sixth gear and the gap to the race leader was already over three seconds when Sorensen suddenly slowed and eventually withdrew from the race with a left rear tire puncture. Sam Bird rewarded the team for their hard work with a sweet victory on his home track and moved back into second place in the overall standings just five points behind the leader.

Jake Rosenzweig started into Sunday’s race from the position twenty two and he showed a good performance when passed several opponents and come to the finish as the thirteenth.

Igor SALAQUARDA – team principal
„At the end of the day I satisfied with the outcome of the weekend. The biggest problem for us was the engine change between the sessions. People from Zytek do a half of it, half do our mechanics, Renault is constantly making upgrades to engines and from the buildings perspective the engines are not all identical. Wrongly plugged connector eventually caused problems in qualifying and the race as well. Leaking oil got into the ignition coil and Sam engine got misfire on 5th a 6th gear. For Jake, the problem was only in two passages – Becketts and Stowe, he lost almost a second in them. We need to score points with both cars for team’s standings.”
