Mücke Motorsport twice on podium at Red Bull Ring

One victory, one runner up, one fastest race lap and two pole positions – that is Berlin team Mücke Motorsport’s loot from the ADAC Formula Masters weekend (10th to 12th August), which rang in the second half of the season with races 13 to 15 on the Red Bull Ring in the Austrian Spielberg. Roy Nissany, driving for the German Capital’s racing team for the third year , achieved the first ever Israeli victory in the junior series with his triumph in race 13. Bonn man Jason Kremer, sponsored by the ADAC Sports Foundation and the Deutsche Post Speed Academy, in his second year with Mücke Motorsport, firmed his third overall place with a second place in race 15 on Sunday afternoon, closing in on the top of the table with now only a difference of 20 points. As fifth in race 14, in which he also delivered the fastest race lap and fourth in race 13 he had continuously collected numerous points in the battle for the title.

A perfect performance was delivered by Roy Nissany in the first race in Austria. From the ninth starting position, the Israeli Mücke pilot managed to improve to third place during the first lap and achieved his much celebrated first victory after further beautiful overtaking manoeuvres. “Roy drive a faultless and engaging race, what an excellent achievement”, praised Frank Lucke, Mücke Motorsport‘s racing engineer. Obviously, the young Israeli, son of Chanoch Nissany, former Formula 1 test driver for Minardi, was thrilled with his success. “This is just an incredible moment and I can’t imagine a better feeling”, said Roy Nissany, now occupying ninth place in the overall ratings. “I learned lots during the first four racing weekends and was now able to transform this experience into a top result.” His hopes for further podium places on the Red Bull Ring unfortunately remained unfulfilled in the following two races as he blamelessly got involved in collisions (16th and elimination).

The Berlin team’s three rookies, all sponsored by the ADAC Sports Foundation, left a very good impression on the 4.326 kilometre long track near Spielberg, too. Florian Herzog from Dresden even cause for celebrations for his own debut in the pole position (race 13) after Friday’s qualifying. After an eighth place in race 14 he occupied the first starter place again for race 14. Like most pilots over the weekend, he too received penalties for leaving the track four times, resulting in places 12 (race 13) and 13 (race) in addition to the eighth rank (despite drive through penalty). Hendrik Grapp, driving in the colours for ADAC Berlin Brandenburg, initially scored points as ninth and continued on with two eleventh places. Race 14 saw him driving in podium place range at times, before he also received a penalty like his team colleagues Kremer and Herzog who were also doing well at the time. Luca Caspari (Meerbusch) fell back to a 15th place in this race the same way. He achieved top ten places ten and eight in the other two races. As eighth in the driver ratings, he remains Mücke’s second best pilot. After 15 out of the total 24 races, the table now lists Herzog as twelfth with Grapp following on place 13.

The next ADAC Formula Masters event will be on home ground for Mücke Motorsport, with races 16 to 18 scheduled to take place on the Lausitzring near South Brandenburg’s Klettwitz in two weeks (24th to 26th August).
