SILVERSTONE, 13 settembre – Titolo piloti con Giancarlo Fisichella e Gianmaria Bruni, su Ferrari 458 Italia, e vittoria del campionato team, entrambi di categoria GTE Pro. AF Corse ritorna da Silverstone, quarto appuntamento della Le Mans Series, a bottino pieno e con una doppia vittoria di peso nel più difficile campionato continentale per vetture GT e prototipi. Non solo: Ferrari vince con un appuntamento di anticipo il titolo costruttori.
“Alla nostra seconda partecipazione nella Le Mans Series, abbiamo vinto grazie ad ottime prestazioni dei nostri piloti, alla Ferrari 458, macchina nuova ma già molto performante, e all’ottimo feeling con le gomme Michelin – sottolinea Amato Ferrari -. Sono orgoglioso di quanto abbiamo dimostrato”.
La 458 di Fisichella-Bruni non era la sola in gara a Silverstone con i colori di AF Corse. Piergiuseppe Perazzini, Marco Cioci e Stephane Lemeret consolidano la loro seconda posizione nella classifica GTE Am, con dieci punti di distacco e la possibilità di agguantare il campionato durante l’ultima gara. La quinta posizione di ieri, infatti, lascia aperti diversi spiragli per raggiungere il primato di categoria. Anche AF Corse è seconda nella classifica generale riservata ai team della GTE Am.
Ritirata per problemi tecnici l’altra 458 di AF Corse al via nella GTE Pro, guidata da Toni Vilander e Jaime Melo.
La gara di Silverstone valeva anche come quinta tappa dell’Intercontinental Le Mans Cup. Anche in questo campionato riservato a team e costruttori, AF Corse è in testa, davanti a BMW Motorsport. Lo stesso vale per la classifica costruttori, con Ferrari prima, seguita dalla casa di Monaco.
AF CORSE, WITH FERRARI 458, WON DRIVER AND TEAM TITLES IN THE LE MANS SERIES
SILVERSTONE, September 13rd – Giancarlo Fisichella and Gianmaria Bruni won the driver’s trophy with their Ferrari 458 Italia; thanks to this victory AF Corse won the manufacturer title in the same GTE Pro category. AF Corse is back from Silverstone, the fourth round of the Le Mans Series, with a double victory in the most difficult continental championship for GT cars and prototypes. Not only: Ferrari won the manufacturers’ title with a race in advance.
“It’s the second time we have taken part to the Le Mans Series and it’s a fantastic winning. This thanks to a fantastic performance of our driver, thanks to the Ferrari 458 Italia, new car but already powerful, and thanks to an optimal feeling with Michelin tyres. I’m proud of what we have shown”.
The 458 driven by Fisichella Bruni was not the only car on the track of Silverstone for AF Corse. Piergiuseppe Perazzini, Marco Cioci and Stephane Lemeret strengthened their second position in GTE Am; they have the chance to gain points enough to win the championship during the last race, in Estoril. At the end of the English race, they finished in fifth place. In the team classification of GTE Am, Amato Ferrari’s team is second.
The other AF Corse Ferrari 458 car, driven by Toni Vilander e Jaime Melo, had to withdraw for technical problem.
The race in Silverstone was also the fifth event of the Intercontinental Cup. AF Corse is leader of this championship as well. Ferrari is in first position followed by BMW.
