ROAD ATLANTA “PETIT LE MANS”, 29 settembre – L’appuntamento del fine settimana alle porte potrebbe essere decisivo per le sorti dell’Intercontinental Le Mans Cup (ILMC). La Petit Le Mans, sul circuito statunitense Road Atlanta, è la sesta e penultima gara in calendario del prestigioso campionato internazionale. AF Corse si presenta al via con il primato nella classifica GTE Pro, grazie ai positivissimi risultati ottenuti nel corso delle prime cinque gare da Giancarlo Fisichella e Gianmaria Bruni, coppia d’abitacolo della Ferrari 458 Italia GT2 schierata dal team di Amato Ferrari. Per la gara americana, insieme ai due italiani correrà anche il tedesco Pierre Kaffer.
AF Corse è prima con 83 punti, davanti a Bmw Motorsport (74 punti). Il bottino importante messo a segno, gara dopo gara, dal team italiano – l’unico a partecipare all’ILMC 2011 – è stato decisivo nel portare Ferrari al primo posto provvisorio della classifica costruttori. La casa del Cavallino ha 128 lunghezze in graduatoria, 20 in più di Bmw, seconda in classifica. Nell’ILMC, non ci sono classifiche riservate ai piloti.
AF Corse è in lotta per le posizioni di testa anche nella GTE Am dove Robert Kauffman, Rui Aguas e Justin Bell proveranno a dare una zampata vincente a bordo di Ferrari 430 GT2. Il team è terzo, al momento, nella GTE Am con 35 punti. Il secondo in classifica è alla portata, vista la distanza contenuta in soli due punti di differenza.
Il semaforo verde della Petit Le Mans è previsto alle 11 e 30 di sabato 1 ottobre; la gara si allunga sulla distanza di 1000 miglia (o 10 ore al massimo).
ROAD ATLANTA “PETIT LE MANS”, September 29th – The event of the weekend could be decisive for the standings of the 2011 Intercontinental Le Mans Cup (ILMC). The “Petit Le Mans”, at Road Atlanta circuit (USA) is the sixth and penultimate race of the prestigious international championship. AF Corse is at the start with the first place in the GTE Pro standings, thanks to the fantastic results of Giancarlo Fisichella and Gianmaria on Ferrari 458 Italia GT2. For the “Petit Le Mans”, Pierre Kaffer also will race with the two Italian drivers.
AF Corse is the first team of GTE Pro classification with 83 points, ahead of BMW Motorsport (74 points). The great perfomances of the AF Corse drivers were decisive also for the Constructors championship where Ferrari is in the first position with 128 points (20 more than BMW, the second in the standings). In the ILMC, there are not Drivers standings.
AF Corse is battling for the lead in the GTE Am also where Robert Kauffman, Rui Aguas and Justin Bell will try to gain important points for the Team championship on Ferrari 430 GT2. AF Corse is third, at the time, with 35 points in the GTE Am. The team at the second place has 37 points.
The green light of the Petit Le Mans is scheduled on Saturday 1 October at 11.30 am for 10 hours race.
