Louis Sharp to step back from PREMA for remainder of 2026 F3 season
PREMA can confirm that the team and Louis Sharp have jointly agreed that Louis will not continue with the team for the remaining rounds of the 2026 FIA Formula 3 season. The decision has mutually been taken to allow Louis to focus fully on his 2027 commitments.
Stephen Mitas, Team Principal & CEO, PREMA Racing said:
“Louis has been a pleasure to have in the team this year and a top talent. His qualifying pace and raw speed were consistently strong, and he brought great energy to everyone around him at PREMA. We understand and support his focus on 2027, and we look forward to following his progress.”
Louis Sharp said:
“I want to thank Stephen, Swampy and everyone at PREMA for the season we’ve had together. It’s been a challenging year results-wise and, with championship contention no longer realistic, and as a result, it makes sense to direct my focus towards securing the right options for 2027.
“I’ve learnt a huge amount racing at this level, hold everyone in the team in high regard and I’m grateful for PREMA’s support of me and my family through this decision.”
An announcement confirming a replacement driver for the remaining F3 events of the season will follow in due course.
PREMA conferma che il team e Louis Sharp hanno concordato di comune accordo che Louis non proseguirà con la squadra per le restanti gare della stagione 2026 del campionato FIA Formula 3. La decisione è stata presa di comune accordo per consentire a Louis di concentrarsi completamente sui suoi impegni per il 2027.

Louis Sharp ha dichiarato:
“Voglio ringraziare Stephen, Swampy e tutti in PREMA per la stagione che abbiamo trascorso insieme. È stato un anno difficile dal punto di vista dei risultati e, dato che la lotta per il campionato non è più realistica, ha senso concentrarmi sulla ricerca delle migliori opportunità per il 2027.
Ho imparato moltissimo correndo a questo livello, ho grande stima di tutti i membri del team e sono grato a PREMA per il supporto che ha dato a me e alla mia famiglia in questa decisione.”
Seguirà a tempo debito l’annuncio del pilota sostitutivo per le restanti gare di F3 della stagione.
