Ocean sets sights on Hungarian podium

The Portuguese Racing team, led by Tiago Monteiro and Jose Guedes, decided to enter the GP3 Championship alongside the GP2 Series this year and to date have had a favourable debut. Their three drivers, Kevin Ceccon, Robert Cregan and Carmen Jorda have done everything to progress and achieve strong results. This weekend, 28th and 29th of July, their journey takes them to Budapest, Hungary.

Kevin Ceccon, the strongest of the trio in terms of results and experience, has already been on the podium twice, although he was deprived of one due to a penalty. Despite this he has been a constant presence at the front of the pack and as such his ambition for this round is to maintain consistency in regard to results. “Since we have already shown we are competitive enough to race out in front and stand on the podium, this race our aim is to return to the top three. I am very focused on my work, preparing for this race in the simulator and both myself and the team know which way we need to go,” he said.

Race after race Robert Cregan has noticeably evolved and even though he has yet to enter the points, it has mainly been due to bad luck. Of course, the Irish driver’s aim this round is to finally achieve a point finish. “I feel more familiar and comfortable with the car. I think we have gone in the right direction and I believe it will also bode well for this race. I think scoring points is a realistic target.”

Carmen Jorda has also shown good adaptation and growth: “The most important thing for me is to gain more confidence and experience and improve on my 13th place in Valencia. I hope that happens as early as this weekend.”

The races take place on Saturday at 5:15pm and Sunday at 9:20am. Both races will be broadcasted live by Sky Sports.
