A first: eBay becomes official #DTM ticket sales channel

Green light for a unique cooperation that generates even more proximity for the fans. The DTM organisation ITR integrates the online marketplace eBay as an official sales channel in its overall strategy and is using the platform as of now to become the first-ever racing event to offer tickets through eBay. On eBay.de, tickets for nearly all the DTM rounds of the 2022 season, with DTM Trophy and DTM Classic racing on the support package on selected dates, can be purchased.

“This cooperation is a first and a really great opportunity to expand the ticket sales. Now, we can attract the attention in an even more targeted way and also reach those for whom eBay is an established commercial platform,” says Frederic Elsner, director event & operations of the DTM organisation ITR. “On a single weekend, we are offering an experience for the entire family with DTM, DTM Trophy, DTM Classic and many further support race series. In the Fan Village, our visitors can engage in activities themselves and they can get really close during the pit walk and in the paddock. Thanks to the cooperation with eBay, it is now even easier for our fans to obtain tickets.”

Click and go, the procedure is really easy: the buyer goes to eBay.de, searches for the DTM account “dtm_official” and gets to see the various opportunities for the relevant races and in the different categories. To reserve the required seat directly after the sale has been completed and to immediately submit the ticket to the buyer in a digital way, a fully new process has been established. The buyer receives a link to download his personal ticket Print@Home.

“We are delighted to be offering race tickets on our worldwide online marketplace for the first time together with DTM. eBay is connecting over 190 markets all over the world and is one of the world’s largest and most dynamic marketplaces with a unique selection. As a result of the partnership with the DTM organisation ITR, this is now becoming even more attractive,” says Heiko Johannisson, head of sports & fashion at eBay Deutschland. eBay was founded in San José, California, in 1995.

Tickets for nearly all the DTM events of the 2022 season are available at ebay.de as of now. The season, with half of the rounds held in Germany and the remaining half in other European countries, gets underway at Portimão in Portugal from 29 April until 1 May. Next up are the rounds at DEKRA Lausitzring Turn 1 (20-22 May), Imola in Italy (17-19 June), Norisring (1-3 July), Nürburgring (26-28 August), Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium (9-11 September), Red Bull Ring in Austria (23-25 September) and the finale at Hockenheimring (7-9 October).
