For the seventh and eighth rounds of the 2016/17 FIA Formula E championship season, Renault e.dams head to Berlin.
For the third European event of the season, the Berlin ePrix returns to Tempelhof airport. The German capital was on the calendar during the first two seasons of Formula E, but on two different circuits. This year, the track will be different from the one used two years ago.
Infact, it has been significantly shortened and simplified (ten turns) and will have faster straight lines to keep in line with the increasing performance of the Formula E single-seaters this campaign. The drivers will then face an anti-clockwise circuit of 2,277km.
Renault e.dams have 190 points under their belt: 132 for Séb and 58 for Nico and are aiming to bring home further strong results to maintain their lead in the Teams’ championship, and to hammer home the drivers title.
“Monaco and Paris have not been very good weekends for me. I hope to qualify better in Berlin and clinch a podium result. It is important to achieve a large number of points in both races, for both the Teams’ and Drivers’ championships.”
“I arrive in Berlin in the same frame of mind as I did in Monaco and Paris. The track is an unusual one since it is made of concrete and not asphalt. Therefore, the car has to be good from the start but I am ready to fight for more points.”
