Due vittorie di categoria e quattro podi in totale per le Ferrari 458 Italia di AF Corse alla “24 Ore di Spa”, quarto appuntamento della Blancpain Endurance Series. Niek Hommerson, Louis Machiels, Andrea Bertolini e Marco Cioci, sulla Ferrari 458 Italia numero 53 di AF Corse, vincono in categoria Pro Am. Terzi, sempre in Pro Am, Steve Wyatt, Michele Rugolo, Craig Lowndes e Andrea Piccini sulla Ferrari 458 Italia numero 52. Entrambi gli equipaggi hanno condotto una gara tattica e, con il passare delle ore, sono riusciti ad inserirsi nelle posizioni di vertice. Fino alla bandiera a scacchi e all’epilogo storico. Grandi successi anche nella GTR (Gentleman Trophy) dove Peter Mann, Francisco Guedes, Alexander Talkanitsa e Cedric Mezard sulla Ferrari 458 Italia numero 51 sono riusciti ad aggiudicarsi il primato. In terza posizione, i compagni di squadra Howard Blank, Yannick Mallegol, Jean Marc Bachelier e Francois Perrodo sulla loro Ferrari 458 Italia numero 49. Sia la Ferrari 51 che la 49 sono state in lotta per le prime posizioni fin dal semaforo verde. Nel corso delle 24 ore, le performance dei piloti e la strategia al muretto ha consolidato le loro posizioni. Decimi nella Pro Am, Duncan Cameron, Matt Griffin ed Alex Mortimer. I vincitori della classica belga, sulla Ferrari numero 54, sono stati rallentati da qualche episodio poco fortunato. Ritirati dopo un incidente, nella stessa categoria, Andrea Sonvico, Simon Knap, Andrew Danyliw, Alessandro Pier Guidi sulla Ferrari numero 50.

“24 Hour of Spa”: two victories and four podia for AF Corse Ferrari 458′s
SPA, July 27th The AF Corse Ferrari 458 Italia’s took two victories of category and four podia in all in this year’s edition of the “24 Hour of Spa”, fourth round of the Blancpain Endurance Series. Niek Hommerson, Louis Machiels, Andrea Bertolini and Marco Cioci, in their Ferrari 458 Italia # 53, won the Pro-Am. Third in the same category were Steve Wyatt, Michele Rugolo, Craig Lowndes and Andrea Piccini in the AF Corse Ferrari 458 Italia #52. Both the squads raced with the right strategy and, hour by hour, they climbed up the leader board to take the chequered flag and the historical results. Great success also in the GTR (Gentleman Trophy). Peter Mann, Francisco Guedes, Alexander Talkanitsa and Cedric Mezard in their Ferrari 458 Italia #51 gained the top step of podium. Third place was reserved for Howard Blank, Yannick Mallegol, Jean Marc Bachelier and François Perrodo at the wheel of the Ferrari 458 Italia #49. These two AF Corse 458′s fought for the top spots from the very beginning. During the 24 hours, the performance of the drivers and the wall’s strategy consolidated their positions to victory. Duncan Cameron, Matt Griffin and Alex Mortimer were tenth in the Pro-Am. Winners in the 2013 edition of this Belgian classic race, the progress of their Ferrari #54 was hampered by some unlucky episodes. Withdrawn after an accident in the same category, Andrea Sonvico, Simon Knap, Andrew Danyliw, Alessandro Pier Guidi in the Ferrari number # 50.
