On 23, 24 and 25 May 2014, at the legendary Nürburgring in Germany, the international racing and music world see the third round of unique events, unrivalled in the world, touring ten of the best European circuits. The first weekends of the ACCELERATION 2014 championship in Portimão, Portugal and Navarra, Spain were a success. Loek Bodelier, CEO of ACCELERATION 2014 says: “We are able to look back at two successful sportive weekends. There was a good atmosphere and it is nice to see that we finally started the series after two years of preparation. The event is there, now I hope we can grow. There are things to improve, but luckily we have a lot of talented people with us.”

Both Mirko Bortolotti (Italy) and Nigel Melker (Netherlands) have trusted the highest step of the podiums in Portimão and Navarra.
“It’s a competitive field with experienced drivers. It makes me happy to see the series has got potential. It has been 2 great weekends for us. If I get the chance again, I will try to do the best again and I’m looking forward to the future. The championship has started on the right foot, the cars are massive and the tracks we are going to also, so for it being the first round I’m absolutely delighted with everything. I can’t wait for the Nürburgring,” says Mirko Bortolotti. German Sebastian Balthasar is currently third in the driver’s championship.
Legend SuperCup
The Legend SuperCup have two races on Saturday and two races on Sunday. All races so far were a battle between two guys: Daniel Campos Hull (ESP) and Davit Kajaia (GEO).
MW-V6 Pickup Series
Irishman Eion Murray and Swede Alx Danielsson are leading the championship and this is a good sign for an exciting season.
The Supercar Challenge will join ACCELERATION at the Nürburgring for the first time this season, then at the Paul Ricard in August and in Assen in October. « Dick van Elk’s Supercar Challenge is a good addition to our event and together we hope to make an exciting show and a spectacular finale in Assen, » says Loek Bodelier.

On Friday 23 May in the evening, the music festival starts with “CELEBRATE THE 80s & 90s with The Hoff”, presented by David Hasselhoff, the world-renowned American actor, and including a variety of famous international artists.
