Championship leader Marvin Kirchhöfer (Lotus / Dallara F311 Volkswagen Power Engine) was disqualified after yesterday’s qualifying session, following a technical infringement which was detected during the technical inspection. The race stewards decided to exclude Kirchhöfer from the qualifying. As a result, the driver from Leipzig will lose his pole positions in race 1 and race 3 and start from the back.
The order of the starting grid will therefore be the following: Briton Emil Bernstorff will be the pole sitter; Russian Artem Markelov (both Lotus / Dallara F311 Volkswagen Power Engine) will be right behind in second place. Swede John Bryant-Meisner (Performance Racing / Dallara F311 Volkswagen Power Engine) will start into the race from third place.
