The German Team Mücke Motorsport extends the contract with Felix Rosenqvist for the Formula 3 Europe

Now they are four: The German Team Mücke Motorsport has four drivers for the FIA Formula 3 European Championship 2013. The racing stable from the German capital city has the fourth driver now with Felix Rosenqvist for the new season. The 21 year old Swede, who is behind the wheel for Mücke Motorsport for the third year, has been on position two at the season ending in the middle of November 2012 at the Formula 3 Grand Prix of Macau. Before that he got the overall third position at the European Championship with two wins at the end of October in Hockenheim and the fourth position at the Formula 3 Euro Series. In 2011, the Swede won the prestigious Formula 3 Masters with the Mücke Team in Zandvoort (Netherlands) as well as overall fifth at the F3 Euroseries.

„I am really looking forward to continue the so far successful work with Felix that we did the last two years already. He has an extraordinary good speed, humanly fits perfect to our team and surely is one of the favourites at the Formula 3 European Championship“, team principal Peter Mücke says. „Now we have the ideal package for the new season with two experienced and successful Formula 3 pilots as well as two fast Rookies. The guys will complement one another and they will drive each other forward.“ Earlier, Mücke Motorsport contracted Pascal Wehrlein (18, Worndorf), who was the Rookie and vice champion at the Formula 3 Euro Series last year as well as on position four at the European Championships and the F3 GP in Macau, Roy Nissany (Israel, 18) and the Australian Mitchell Gilbert (lives in England, 17).

“It feels great to finally be able to announce my plans for 2013, and to continue my relationship with the guys at Mücke Motorsport for another year,” says Felix Rosenqvist. “It’s been a long winter with several flattering offers to consider, but at the end of the day, there is no doubt in my mind that this is the best option for my career. The FIA Formula 3 European Championship will ensure that all the best F3 teams and drivers race side-by-side in a united and strong series and that is highly compelling to me. The competition will be even tougher than previously, but – on the back of our results at the end of last year – my sole target has got to be to win as many races as possible; and I’m here to fight for the title for myself and for the team.”

Before the season opening on 23rd and 24th of March in Monza (Italy) with the first three out of altogether 30 races of the European Championship, Mücke Motorsport and their four drivers will meet this year’s combatants for the first time at the official European Championship test drives in Barcelona (8th/9th of March) and Monza (18th/19th of March). The four drivers of Mücke want to show what they are able to achieve already.
