Oregon Team a Imola nell’Italiano GT Endurance con la novità Maximilian Paul
A distanza di pochi giorni dall’impegno del Nürburgring del Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europa, l’Oregon Team ritorna in pista questo fine settimana a Imola per affrontare il terzo dei quattro appuntamenti del Campionato Italiano Gran Turismo Endurance che precederà il gran finale del Mugello ad inizio novembre.
Sul circuito del Santerno la squadra di Jerry Canevisio e Giorgio Testa sarà presente nella serie di durata, come di consueto, schierando una sola Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO2, ma con un equipaggio parzialmente inedito e di primissimo piano.
Ad alternarsi con i riconfermati Enzo Geraci e Guido Luchetti ci sarà infatti in questa occasione Maximilian Paul. Il tedesco, già in passato legato al team di Cremosano con cui ha corso nel GT Open nel 2023 ottenendo quattro vittorie, facendo anche alcune apparizioni nella stessa serie l’anno successivo, torna al volante dopo essersi infortunato al Norisring nella tappa del DTM dello scorso luglio.
Un rientro di alto livello quello di Paul, 26 anni, factory driver della Casa di Sant’Agata Bolognese, che certamente completa un equipaggio di punta.
Dopo avere centrato nel secondo round di Monza che si è disputato a giugno (con Artem Petrov nei panni del terzo pilota) un buon settimo piazzamento assoluto che ha definitivamente archiviato il difficile weekend d’apertura di Misano, a Imola l’obiettivo sarà quello di ritornare ad inserirsi nelle posizioni di vertice.
Venerdì sono in programma le prime due sessioni di prove libere della durata di un’ora ciascuna, mentre un terzo turno si svolgerà sabato mattina. Sempre sabato alle 14:00 prenderanno il via le qualifiche, con la gara di tre ore che scatterà infine domenica alle 12:05 e potrà essere seguita live sul canale ufficiale YouTube @CIGranTurismo e su ACI Sport TV.

Just days after the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe round at the Nürburgring, the Oregon Team returns to the track this weekend at Imola for the third of four rounds of the Italian GT Endurance Championship, which precedes the grand finale at Mugello in early November.
At the Santerno circuit, Jerry Canevisio and Giorgio Testa’s team will be present in the endurance series, as usual, fielding a single Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO2, but with a partially new and top-notch crew.
Splitting alongside the reconfirmed drivers Enzo Geraci and Guido Luchetti will be Maximilian Paul. The German, who previously raced with the Cremosano-based team in the GT Open in 2023, scoring four victories and also making a few appearances in the same series the following year, returns to the wheel after being injured at the Norisring in the DTM round last July.
A high-level return for Paul, 26, a factory driver for the Sant’Agata Bolognese-based manufacturer, who certainly completes a top-flight crew.
After securing a solid seventh overall finish in the second round at Monza in June (with Artem Petrov as the third driver), which definitively put a difficult opening weekend at Misano behind the wheel, the goal at Imola will be to return to the top positions.
The first two one-hour free practice sessions are scheduled for Friday, with a third session taking place on Saturday morning. Qualifying will also begin on Saturday at 2:00 PM, with the three-hour race finally starting on Sunday at 12:05 PM and available to watch live on the official YouTube channel @CIGranTurismo and on ACI Sport TV.
