ANTONELLI MOTORSPORT PUNTA IN ALTO NELL’ITALIANO GT ENDURANCE
Round numero tre per il Campionato Italiano Gran Turismo Endurance, che questo fine settimana (5 e 6 settembre) approda a Imola. Sul circuito del Santerno il team Antonelli Motorsport sarà presente con due Mercedes-AMG GT3 EVO, una di queste divisa da Guy Albag e Lorenzo Ferrari, mentre sull’altra si daranno il cambio Giuseppe Guirreri e Stefano Pedani.
A Imola, Albag e Ferrari vi giungono dopo avere centrato un bel terzo posto nell’apertura di Misano. Ma anche con lo zero del secondo round di Monza da cancellare in fretta. Sul tracciato brianzolo, l’equipaggio del team Antonelli Motorsport è stato costretto infatti a prodigarsi in una rimonta dal fondo della griglia, dopo che Ferrari nelle prove ufficiali era stato incolpevolmente coinvolto in un contatto che ha compromesso la partecipazione alla Q3. Una rimonta tradottasi nel 13° posto di classe. Nella classifica assoluta Albag e Ferrari occupano adesso il quarto posto a 19 lunghezze dalla leadership e adesso sono intenzionati ad accorciare decisamente il loro gap.
Per quanto riguarda Guirreri e Pedani, le aspettative sono sicuramente alte, nonostante due difficili weekend culminati con il decimo piazzamento della Pro-Am ottenuto a Misano e l’ottavo di Monza, in entrambe le occasioni affiancati dal cinese Jiatong Liang, assente invece a Imola.
Il weekend di Imola, nel cui contesto il team Antonelli Motorsport celebra ufficialmente il traguardo delle 250 gare, inizierà venerdì con le prime due sessioni di prove libere della durata di un’ora ciascuna, seguite da una terza in programma sabato mattina.
Sempre sabato, fin dalle 14:00, si svolgeranno le qualifiche, mentre la gara di 180 minuti prenderà il via domenica alle 12:05 e potrà essere seguita in live streaming sul canale ufficiale YouTube @CIGranTurismo e in diretta su ACI Sport TV.
Round three of the Italian GT Endurance Championship arrives in Imola this weekend (September 5 and 6). The Antonelli Motorsport team will be present at the Santerno circuit with two Mercedes-AMG GT3 EVOs, one driven by Guy Albag and Lorenzo Ferrari, while the other will be driven by Giuseppe Guirreri and Stefano Pedani.
Albag and Ferrari arrive in Imola after securing a strong third-place finish in the Misano opener. But they also have a zero-point finish from the second round in Monza that needs to be quickly erased. On the Monza track, the Antonelli Motorsport team was forced to work hard to recover from the back of the grid after Ferrari was innocently involved in a collision during qualifying that compromised their participation in Q3. This recovery resulted in 13th place in their class. In the overall standings, Albag and Ferrari currently occupy fourth place, 19 points off the lead, and are now intent on significantly closing their gap.
As for Guirreri and Pedani, expectations are certainly high, despite two difficult weekends culminating in a tenth-place finish in Pro-Am at Misano and an eighth-place finish at Monza. On both occasions, they were joined by Chinese driver Jiatong Liang, who was absent from Imola.
The Imola weekend, where the Antonelli Motorsport team officially celebrates its 250th race, will begin on Friday with the first two one-hour free practice sessions, followed by a third scheduled for Saturday morning.
Qualifying will also take place on Saturday, starting at 2:00 PM, while the 180-minute race will start on Sunday at 12:05 PM and can be followed live on the official YouTube channel @CIGranTurismo and live on ACI Sport TV.
