RED BULL RING RETURNS AS MICHELIN 24H SERIES REVEALS 2027 EUROPEAN CALENDAR

Creventic has announced the provisional 2027 calendar for the Michelin 24H SERIES European Series, which includes five endurance events at notable Grand Prix circuits in Europe. The championship will take place in Italy, Belgium, Austria, France, and Spain from March to September. The season will feature four 12-hour races leading up to a summer break, with the Michelin 24H BARCELONA being the season’s finale at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.

The calendar maintains continuity with events at Mugello, Spa-Francorchamps, Circuit Paul Ricard, and Barcelona, while also reintroducing the Red Bull Ring, which last hosted the series in 2017. The return of this track after ten years is anticipated to enhance the competition with its challenging layout. Teams can expect a compact format of 72 hours of racing spread over five weekends, aimed to encourage participation in the full season while providing ample track time and a manageable schedule.

Each race event will begin with two CR Track Days. These days are designed for teams to gain extra track time before the official races, allowing for testing, car adjustments, and driver preparation with open pitlane access. The racing season kicks off at Mugello from March 19 to 21, a popular venue that has been a regular fixture since 2014. This circuit, located in Tuscany, is known for its scenic views and fast layout.

Following Mugello, the second race will be at Spa-Francorchamps from April 9 to 11, a revered circuit characterized by challenging weather conditions and famous corners, which adds a unique challenge to endurance racing. On May 14 to 16, the series will return to the Red Bull Ring in Austria for the first time in a decade, marking a significant change in the calendar. The previous race at this circuit took place in 2017, and its combination of elevation changes and varied track areas will offer a distinctive test for the competitors.

The fourth event will occur at Circuit Paul Ricard from June 4 to 6, serving as the final race before the summer break. This French circuit is known for its long Mistral Straight and technical sections that support diverse racing strategies. The season will culminate in Barcelona from September 10 to 12, featuring the Michelin 24H BARCELONA, which is the only 24-hour race and presents one of the toughest challenges of the season.
