GT World – Magny-Cours welcomes more than 27,000 spectators for annual festival of motorsport
Magny-Cours hosted its annual motorsport festival, attracting over 27,000 spectators for a weekend filled with racing events. This year’s attendance increased by almost six thousand compared to 2025, with a record-setting 44 cars competing in two 60-minute GT World Challenge races on a 4.4km circuit.
In the first race, the Mercedes-AMG Team Verstappen Racing achieved a significant victory, with Jules Gounon starting from pole and handing the car to Dani Juncadella, who finished first. They won against the 7 Comtoyou Racing Aston Martin and the 50 AF Corse Ferrari. A fire truck was present at the race to honor firefighters fighting wildfires in France.
The second race was more challenging, including a red flag interruption, but Lionspeed GP secured the win with a great pit stop, allowing their Porsche, driven by Ricardo Feller and Bastian Buus, to take first place. The runner-up, 30 Team WRT BMW, achieved its drivers’ career-best finishes and edged closer to the Silver Cup title. Rutronik Racing finished third, marking its Lamborghini’s first podium in the GT World Challenge.
In the Gold Cup, Boutsen VDS won on Saturday with its Porsche, while CSA Racing was victorious on Sunday with a McLaren. The Bronze Cup saw victories for Winward Racing’s Mercedes-AMG in Race 1 and Paradine Competition’s BMW in Race 2.
Fans enjoyed various activities, including four pit walks, a special pit and track walk after Saturday’s night race, and podium celebrations. Additional attractions featured autograph sessions, food stalls, simulators, and merchandise stands, enhancing the fan experience.
The weekend included events from the FFSA French GT, TC, and F4 Championships, with Léo Jousset among the winners, showcasing future talent for the GT World Challenge. The GT World Challenge will take a four-week summer break before resuming with an Endurance Cup race at the Nürburgring from 28–30 August, alongside various support races.

Quest’anno la partecipazione è aumentata di quasi seimila persone rispetto al 2025, con un numero record di 44 vetture in gara nelle due prove del GT World Challenge da 60 minuti su un circuito di 4,4 km.

La seconda gara è stata più impegnativa, con un’interruzione dovuta alla bandiera rossa, ma il team Lionspeed GP si è assicurato la vittoria grazie a un pit stop impeccabile, che ha permesso alla Porsche, guidata da Ricardo Feller e Bastian Buus, di conquistare il primo posto. Il team 30 Team WRT BMW, arrivato secondo, ha ottenuto il miglior piazzamento in carriera per i suoi piloti, avvicinandosi al titolo della Silver Cup. Il team Rutronik Racing si è classificato terzo, conquistando il primo podio nel GT World Challenge con la sua Lamborghini.

Il GT World Challenge si prenderà una pausa estiva di quattro settimane prima di riprendere con una gara dell’Endurance Cup al Nürburgring dal 28 al 30 agosto, insieme a diverse gare di supporto.
