ELMS – United Autosports Win the 4 Hours of Le Castellet
Anglo-American team United Autosports took their first ELMS LMP2 victory for nearly three years when Griffin Peebles, Gregoire Saucy and Ben Hanley stood on the top step of the podium at the end of the 4 Hours of Le Castellet. Hanley took the chequered flag nearly nine seconds ahead of the rest of the field led by the no34 Inter Europol Competition Oreca of Reshad De Gerus, with Paul-Loup Chatin securing a home podium for IDEC Sport in the no28 Oreca.
The win in LMP2 Pro/Am went to the no27 Nielsen Racing Oreca-Gibson with Alex Quinn taking the chequered flag. The no83 AF Corse of Matthieu Vaxiviere crossed the line first but a Drive Through Penalty dropped the team down to 6th. Kriton Lentoudis and James Allen joined Quinn on the top step of the podium, with the no99 AO by TF finishing second and the no30 Duqueine Team finishing third.
The no13 Inter Europol Competition Ligier of Alex Bukhantsov, Chun Ting Chou and Henry Cubides Olarte took the win in LMP3 after Wyatt Brichacek had to pit from the lead in the no4 DKR Engineering Ligier after the cockpit door wouldn’t shut. The American finished the race in third behind the no68 M Racing Ligier.
The no57 Kessel Racing Ferrari took the victory in LMGT3 after Mathys Jaubert stormed through to pass reigning champion Charlie Eastwood in the no33 TF Sport Corvette, the French driver going on to win the class by 17.6 seconds. Takeshi Kimura and Daniel Serra celebrated the win with Jaubert, with the no86 GR Racing Ferrari taking third after the no55 Spirit of Race Ferrari, which had finished third on the road, received a post race penalty, dropping the car to fourth.
The next ELMS race will be the 4 Hours of Imola on Sunday 5 July 2026, with several teams competing at the 24 Hours of Le Mans from 10–14 June in the meantime.
Il team anglo-americano United Autosports ha conquistato la sua prima vittoria nella categoria LMP2 dell’ELMS dopo quasi tre anni, con Griffin Peebles, Gregoire Saucy e Ben Hanley sul gradino più alto del podio al termine della 4 Ore di Le Castellet. Hanley ha tagliato il traguardo con quasi nove secondi di vantaggio sul resto del gruppo, guidato dalla Oreca n. 34 dell’Inter Europol Competition di Reshad De Gerus, mentre Paul-Loup Chatin ha completato il podio di casa per l’IDEC Sport con la Oreca n. 28.
La vittoria nella categoria LMP2 Pro/Am è andata alla Oreca-Gibson n. 27 del team Nielsen Racing, con Alex Quinn al comando. La vettura n. 83 dell’AF Corse di Matthieu Vaxiviere ha tagliato il traguardo per prima, ma una penalità Drive Through ha fatto scivolare il team al sesto posto. Kriton Lentoudis e James Allen hanno raggiunto Quinn sul gradino più alto del podio, con la vettura n. 99 dell’AO by TF al secondo posto e la vettura n. 30 del Duqueine Team al terzo. La Ligier numero 13 del team Inter Europol Competition, guidata da Alex Bukhantsov, Chun Ting Chou e Henry Cubides Olarte, ha conquistato la vittoria nella categoria LMP3 dopo che Wyatt Brichacek, a bordo della Ligier numero 4 del team DKR Engineering, è stato costretto a rientrare ai box mentre era in testa alla gara a causa di un problema alla portiera dell’abitacolo. L’americano ha concluso la gara al terzo posto, alle spalle della Ligier numero 68 del team M Racing.
Nella categoria LMGT3, la Ferrari numero 57 del team Kessel Racing ha trionfato grazie alla rimonta di Mathys Jaubert, che ha superato il campione in carica Charlie Eastwood sulla Corvette numero 33 del team TF Sport. Il pilota francese ha poi vinto la categoria con un vantaggio di 17,6 secondi. Takeshi Kimura e Daniel Serra hanno festeggiato la vittoria con Jaubert, mentre la Ferrari numero 86 del team GR Racing si è piazzata terza dopo che la Ferrari numero 55 del team Spirit of Race, che aveva terminato la gara al terzo posto, ha ricevuto una penalità a fine gara, retrocedendo al quarto posto.
La prossima gara dell’ELMS sarà la 4 Ore di Imola, in programma domenica 5 luglio 2026, mentre diverse squadre saranno impegnate nella 24 Ore di Le Mans, dal 10 al 14 giugno.
