R02 Miami – FIA Formula 2 Race 1 Report – PREMA Racing wraps up tough Sprint Race at Miami
As the opening race of the FIA Formula 2 Championship weekend in Miami got underway today, PREMA Racing continued to navigate challenging waters.
Starting from 19th and 16th on the grid respectively, Sebastian Montoya and Mari Boya finished P16 and P17. The Miami native improved on his starting position despite dealing with contact damage, and showed pace at times, though he was unable to fight his way back through the field.
Boya, on the other hand, could not find the right chemistry with the car and gradually fell back, eventually finishing in the same position from which he had started.
#11 – SEBASTIAN MONTOYA
“A difficult race, even though the speed was strong — especially towards the end. There are a lot of things we need to clean up and procedures that have to be checked. The speed and the potential are there, but this weekend exposed some real hardships and opened our eyes to what we have to focus on going forward. Luckily, we have one more race tomorrow to make something happen.”
#12 – MARI BOYA
“It has been one of the most difficult races of my life. We need to understand what happened. I didn’t feel comfortable out there, and we need to see if we can turn it around for tomorrow. It’s a new race — maybe we’ll find new opportunities.”
Oggi, con l’inizio della gara inaugurale del weekend del Campionato FIA di Formula 2 a Miami, il team PREMA Racing ha continuato a navigare in acque difficili.
Partiti rispettivamente dalla 19ª e dalla 16ª posizione in griglia, Sebastian Montoya e Mari Boya hanno concluso la gara in 16ª e 17ª posizione. Il pilota di Miami ha migliorato la sua posizione di partenza nonostante i danni subiti a seguito di un contatto, mostrando a tratti un buon ritmo, pur non riuscendo a recuperare posizioni.
Boya, invece, non è riuscito a trovare il giusto feeling con la vettura ed è gradualmente scivolato indietro, terminando la gara nella stessa posizione di partenza.
#11 – SEBASTIAN MONTOYA
“Una gara difficile, anche se la velocità era elevata, soprattutto nel finale. Ci sono molte cose da sistemare e procedure da verificare. La velocità e il potenziale ci sono, ma questo weekend ha messo in luce alcune vere difficoltà e ci ha fatto capire su cosa dobbiamo concentrarci in futuro. Per fortuna, domani abbiamo un’altra gara per fare qualcosa di importante.”
#12 – MARI BOYA
“È stata una delle gare più difficili della mia vita. Dobbiamo capire cosa è successo. Non mi sentivo a mio agio in pista e dobbiamo vedere se riusciamo a ribaltare la situazione per domani. È una nuova gara: forse troveremo nuove opportunità.”
