IRON LYNX SET FOR FRENCH CLASSIC AS ELMS ENTERS ROUND 2

Iron Lynx is competing in beautiful southern France this weekend as the European Le Mans Series gets back underway in Le Castellet.

The Italian outfit is returning to the challenging venue perched between the hills around the French riviera, and it will do so after a superb run in the Barcelona opener.

Team Qatar by Iron Lynx experienced an extremely positive ELMS debut in Spain, where it led for the most part of the race before settling for P4. Abdulla Al-Khelaifi was the first Qatari racer to claim pole in an ACO-sanctioned event, and was equally impressive in his stint. Silver-rated driver Julian Hanses will also return after an extremely prominsing early outing.

Joining them, Belgian star Maxime Martin will compete in the series for the first time, in a notable addition to his long and successful career. The Mercedes-AMG Performance Driver, who had to miss the first round due to a conflicting commitment, has already been supporting the team in testing and is also competing under the Iron Lynx banner in the FIA WEC.

The #63 Mercedes-AMG LMGT3 entry is back after claiming a positive points finish in Barcelona and will once again rely on bronze-rated Ameerh Naran as its qualifier and starter. Rui Andrade, who shares the #61 FIA WEC car with Martin, will continue in his double role as he chases some strong results at European level too.

The 4 Hours of Le Castellet will get underway on Sunday and the competitive level is expected to be increasingly high. Despite the good forecasts for the event, showers are never out of the equation in the area, and given the rate of attrition seen in the past, strategy will also be an extremely key component.

Questo fine settimana Iron Lynx gareggerà nella splendida Francia meridionale, in occasione della ripresa dell’European Le Mans Series a Le Castellet.

Il team italiano torna sul difficile tracciato incastonato tra le colline della Riviera francese, dopo l’ottima prestazione nella gara inaugurale di Barcellona.

Il Team Qatar by Iron Lynx ha avuto un debutto estremamente positivo nell’ELMS in Spagna, dove ha guidato per gran parte della gara prima di chiudere in quarta posizione. Abdulla Al-Khelaifi è stato il primo pilota qatariano a conquistare la pole position in una gara sanzionata dall’ACO, dimostrando un’ottima forma anche nel suo stint. Anche il pilota con rating Silver Julian Hanses tornerà in pista dopo un inizio di gara molto promettente.

Insieme a loro, la stella belga Maxime Martin farà il suo debutto nella serie, un importante traguardo nella sua lunga e brillante carriera. Il pilota Mercedes-AMG Performance, che ha dovuto saltare la prima gara per un impegno concomitante, ha già supportato il team nei test e gareggia anche sotto le insegne di Iron Lynx nel FIA WEC.

La Mercedes-AMG LMGT3 numero 63 torna in pista dopo aver conquistato punti a Barcellona e si affiderà ancora una volta ad Ameerh Naran, già in gara con qualifica di bronzo, sia in qualifica che al via. Rui Andrade, che condivide la vettura numero 61 del FIA WEC con Martin, continuerà a ricoprire il doppio ruolo, puntando a ottenere ottimi risultati anche a livello europeo.

La 4 Ore di Le Castellet prenderà il via domenica e si prevede un livello di competizione sempre più elevato. Nonostante le buone previsioni meteo, la pioggia non è mai da escludere in questa zona e, visto l’alto tasso di ritiri registrato in passato, la strategia sarà un elemento cruciale.
