Leading Formula 2 outfit DAMS and Lucas Oil will strengthen their existing partnership, starting with the French team being re-named DAMS Lucas Oil ahead of the upcoming campaign.

Founded by Forrest Lucas in 1989, Lucas Oil remains a family-owned business and is one
of the world’s largest manufacturers of oils, additives, lubricants and other workshop
accessories.

The two parties have been working closely with each other since the beginning of the modern FIA Formula 2 era in 2017, with the Le Mans-based squad’s mechanics and engineers using a variety of Lucas Oil’s products, including Brake Cleaner, Slick Mist Speedwax, Slick Mist Interior Detailer, Metal Polish, Slick Mist Tire and Trim Shine. These products have played a crucial role in the success of DAMS and other teams across several motorsport disciplines, while also benefitting consumers, independent garages and the workshops of commercial fleets from the logistics, agricultural, construction and engineering sectors.

Since Team Owner Charles Pic took control of the squad in 2022, the team has looked to further develop its partnership portfolio. DAMS and Lucas Oil have enjoyed a fruitful relationship over the last seven seasons, and extending the affiliation will provide boosts for both. The FIA Formula 2 Championship offers Lucas Oil access to a fast-growing demographic passionate about automotive performance. The series has enjoyed a boom in viewership in recent years, and currently boasts over 32 million viewers across 35 broadcasters in more than 160 territories. Meanwhile, the team receives access to high-quality products, enabling them to enhance performance on-track in an extremely competitive championship. In turn, DAMS’ feedback helps Lucas Oil develop their products, providing an even better service for their existing clients.

DAMS Lucas Oil enters the 2024 campaign looking to build on a solid 2023, with F2 race winner Jak Crawford and two-time podium finisher Juan Manuel Correa joining the team.
