#dakar2020 – A GOOD DAY IN THE DESERT

Red-Lined Motoring Adventures’ pair of Nissan Navara VK56 racers enjoyed a calmer day at Dakar 2020 Saudi Arabia on Tuesday as both cars had a clean day to climb up the time sheets on the loop around Neom. South African pair Hennie de Klerk and Johann Smalberger brought the TreasuryOne Navara home 36th on the day to move up two positions to 41st overall, while Sabertooth Racing Brits Thomas Bell and Patrick McMurren placed 41st on the day to climb from 49th to 44th overall.

“Both our Red-Lined Navaras had problem-free results today, bar a couple of punctures and they’re back in the bivouac where the team is tinkering on them in preparation for the fourth day up to Al-Ula tomorrow,” team boss Terence Marsh reported. “Our amateur crews are living among the greatest adventures know to man to the tee and that’s what Red-Lined Motoring Adventures strives to do — to be racing the best in the world in the toughest race on earth is an achievement all on its own, but these guys are doing it in fine style too — keep it up men!”

“We really enjoyed today once we settled down to racing,” Thomas Bell admitted. “It was pretty dusty early on and we had two punctures in a row, but once we were over that we just concentrated on keeping a sensible pace and enjoyed every second while our Sabertooth Navara never missed a beat. “We are now getting into the swing of it and can’t wait for tomorrow.”
