# NWES – Rising star Florian Venturi will drive the #32 Go Fas Racing Ford in the ELITE 2 Division

The ELITE 2 driver of the #32 Go Fas Racing Ford Mustang will be French Formula 4 vice champion Florian Venturi, who will move from open wheels to NASCAR to continue building his professional with the dream to race in the United States. He will join the newly formed European division of the Go Fas Racing team, where he’ll drive alongside returning ace Romain Iannetta.

A native of Nogent-sur-Marne in the Île-de-France region, 16-year-old Florian Venturi moved from a successful karting career – he won the ROTAX Junior World Championship in 2015 – to the French F4 Championship in 2017, finishing 2rd in points with 7 podiums and emerging as one of the most promising young drivers in France. Venturi had the chance to test a Euro NASCAR car in one of the NWES Recruitment Days and choose NASCAR as the path for his future.

“I can’t wait! With my father we always watch NASCAR races in TV and when we had the opportunity to go test the Euro NASCAR car we jumped on it. I loved the car and its power immediately and I choose really believe it is a great opportunity for my career,” said Venturi. “I hope to learn as much as I can from Romain and to meet the team’s expectations and fight for the win. I want to thank Romain and Jerome Galpin for this opportunity and of course my family, my partners, my friends and everybody supporting me.”

Go Fas Racing Europe team manager and ELITE 1 driver Romain Iannetta, who will return to the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series after finishing third in points in 2015, believes in Venturi’s potential to become a NASCAR star.

“I knew Florian because of his very promising season in Formula 4 and I had the chance to talk to him when we met for the first time at the NWES Recruitment Day. His choice to move to NASCAR is clever, he’s committed and smart and extremely focused in his effort to adapt to NASCAR as quickly as he can,” said the French veteran. “I advised him to start from the ELITE 2 Division and I think we have what it takes to do very well in 2018. We are very happy to have him with us and we’ll do our best to fight for a podium finish all season long.”

With the lineup of its #32 Ford Mustang completed, the Go Fas Racing team is now in the process of preparing its debut in the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series, which will take place on April 14-15 at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia, Spain.
