BAHRAIN RACING FORMULA V8 2017

SMP Racing by AVF closes test with fastest time

It is the end of an era in Motorsport, The World Series era, and SMP Racing by AVF wrote it’s name in the very last page of the book conquering the best lap in the second and last day of the Collective Tests. The Spanish car, drive by Pedro Piquet, stopped the clock at 1:43.623 in the morning, and nobody got a better time in the afternoon. The Brazilan was even faster than the pole signed as well by Adrian Valles’ team with Matevos Isaakyan. Henrique Chaves did a good job on the second car. The Portuguese, who raced in Formula 2.0 Eurocup for AVF, joined the series for the very last race weekend and he got two shocking first row start and a win in race-1

Henrique Chaves
«Today was a better day, we improved in the afternoon, we hadn’t the push of the second set, but we kept improving everytime I went on track. In the end we did what we wanted, race simulations and different set-ups. It’s such a shame this championship will not happen in next season, but I’m proud to have written my name as winner in the hall of fame here in Bahrain”.

Pedro Piquet
“The morning was good, we’re really on it, we worked well. In the afternoon it was strange, we struggled a bit on both new and used set, I improved in the end, anyway it was a nice day. I’ve learned a lot from this car is really fast and enjoyable to drive. Feeling was good as well, especially with carbon brakes. It’s a great car, I’m a bit tired, but I’m happy with that”.
