The drivers in the French F4 Championship back in action!

Three months have elapsed since the last meeting of the French F4 Championship on the Spa- Francorchamps circuit. Afer the summer break the drivers will be back in action between 8 – 10 September on a track that has marked the history of French motor sport, the Nevers Magny-Cours circuit on which they are all determined to make their mark.

This coming weekend (8-10 September), the famous Magny-Cours circuit not far from Nevers will host the fifth round of the French F4 Championship. It’s obvious that after such a long summer break the drivers can’t wait to get back into action. While Arthur Rougier has put himself in a strong position to win the title nothing is yet decided among the front runners, and the second half of the season promises to be as exciting as the first. Victor Martins in particular, who is just behind Rougier, could be a serious rival.

Pierre-Alexandre Jean in third place has already racked four podium finishes including a victory and will arrive in the Nièvre with the sole intention of adding more to his tally. Florian Venturi and Christian Muñoz will be out to consolidate their places in the top 5, but with the podium firmly in their sights. Just shy of the top 5, Mexican Javier Gonzalez is hot on the heels of his rivals after scoring four podium finishes so far including a victory like Jean.

Then comes South African Stuart White has also clinched podium finishes this season. The above-mentioned like Jean-Baptiste Mela and Charles Milesi who are not far behind in the championship haven’t said their last word. So the spectators can count on the hard chargers in the middle of the pack to set the cat among the pigeons and add an extra dose of excitement to the weekend’s three races.

Marvin Klein didn’t have a great weekend at Spa-Francorchamps and it’s obvious that his aim is to get back among the front-runners. Hugo Chevalier is only 20 points shy of the top 10 and his motivation will be at an all-time high when he arrives at Magny-Cours where he already raced last year in F4; he is determined to repeat his podium finish in Pau in race 3. Thomas Drouet too, in 13th place overall, has a chance to upset the hierarchy. Finally, Amaury Cordeel and Ugo De Wilde, the two Belgian drivers will arrive in the Nièvre determined to move up the timesheets in the first meeting after the summer break..

After winning the French Junior Kart title in July Pierre-Louis Chovet had his first test in an F4 this summer. While it went off pretty well competition is the real yardstick so he has decided to measure himself against the drivers in the 2017 French F4 Championship for the rest of the year before entering for the 2018 season. The youngster from Menton is ready to take up the challenge.
