FFF Racing by ACM are all set for a double programme this weekend (23-25 June, 2017) at Suzuka, Japan with its Blancpain GT Series Asia entries as well as Super Trofeo Asia.
The team are looking forward to competing at the classic Suzuka circuit, a unique track in that it is in a figure of eight. Built in 1962 by famous circuit designer John Hugenholtz, the venue remains one of the favourite circuits for fans and drivers alike.
The Chinese-based team enjoyed a strong showing last time out with Aidan Read and Alberto Di Folco securing podium positions in both the first and second Thailand races in the #1 Lamborghini Huracan GT3 in the silver-silver class. The duo are third in the silver standings with 48 points, having secured points in every race so far this year.
Teammates Lin Yue and Zhu Junhan meanwhile will be looking to build on a fine runner-up position secured in the second race in the Am-Am class and aim to improve on their current fourth position in the Am drivers’ standings in their #2 Huracan GT3.
Over in Super Trofeo for round three of the six-round championship, it’s an unchanged line-up with Carrie Schreiner and Richard Goddard teaming up once again in the #50 Pro-Am Lamborghini having secured a fantastic class win in Thailand followed by a runner-up position.
Jack Bartholomew and Armaan Ebrahim meanwhile finished third in the last race together and are seeking a strong result on what is their first Japanese event of the season.
“It will be exciting for all the FFF Racing drivers to race at this famous old iconic race circuit and it will be a big challenge for the young academy drivers with their first visit there,” said FFF Racing Team Owner Sean Fu Songyang. “Fortunately, our engineers know this circuit well and there are some drivers in the FFF stable who have raced this circuit before so they can pass on their knowledge and I think as a team we should hopefully bring some silverware home with us!”
The GT Series Asia practice gets underway Friday, with qualifying Saturday at 10.05 Saturday and the first 60-minute race at 15.10. Race two takes place Sunday at 11.30.
