You bring the car, we find you a class

“If you have a car you want to run in an endurance race, we will make sure we find a class for it to race in.” That is CREVENTIC’s motto for the endurance race events in the 24H SERIES, 24H TCE SERIES and 24H PROTO SERIES. Of course, requirements concerning safety and homologation have to be met, and scrutineering is in place to make sure the car is in good condition and in accordance with the regulations, but generally, the people at CREVENTIC hardly ever say ‘no’ when a team wants to participate in its races. Over the years, that has been one of the key elements in the success of the various 24- and 12-hour races, and has also contributed to a diverse grid. Moreover, the class structure and CREVENTIC’s proven balance of performance system ensures good competition in all classes.

“Some people think that our races are only for GT cars, because the cars running at the front of the field usually get the most attention, but that is wide of the mark,” CREVENTIC’s regulations specialist Gerrie Willems explains. “We have always made it clear that teams with compact touring cars, often prepared by volunteers in the evening or during weekends, are just as valuable to us as teams with the latest GT3 machinery. We all come to the races to enjoy the passion of endurance racing together and then, it doesn’t matter what car you are driving. I have said it often during drivers’ briefings: people who are now maybe professionals or semi-professionals in GT3 cars maybe started themselves driving a small touring car. That is why we do our utmost to treat everybody equally.”

Touring cars, GTs and specials

Touring cars with diesel or petrol engines up to 3500 cc, naturally aspirated or turbocharged, front-, rear or four-wheel driven, BMW M235i Racing Cup cars, TCR cars, Porsche Cup cars from the 997, 996 and 991 production generation of the legendary Porsche 911, GT3 cars and similar machines in the Pro- and Am-class, and then GT4 cars, special cars and silhouettes as well as electrically- and hybrid-powered cars: they are all eligible to race in the CREVENTIC events. Gerrie Willems says: “We have been organising races for well over a decade and I can only think of two or three situations in which we decided not to let a car race, because of safety aspects. Actually, the only real ban we have is on open-top cars, again because of safety. For the rest, we can accommodate almost every car in one of our classes, and if not, we will try to find a suitable solution.”

A new addition to CREVENTIC’s portfolio for 2017, the 24H PROTO SERIES is following the same concept. P2 machines built in or before 2016, P3, CN cars, Ginetta G57s, Radicals, Renault R.S. 01 cars and other prototypes all are eligible to race in the series’ rounds. Here, too, a balance of performance system is in place to ensure good and fair competition.

If you have a race car, but don’t know in which category it fits, don’t wait any longer, but contact us by phone or e-mail. We will find you a class to race in, and we hope to welcome you in one of our next races!
