REBELLION Racing secured their sixth LMP1 Privateer Pole Position of the season for tomorrow’s 6 Hours of Fuji race, the seventh round of the 2016 FIA World Endurance Championship.
Dominik Kraihamer and Alexandre Imperatori in the Rebellion R-One AER #13 qualified first of the LMP1 Privateers in front of the #4 ByKolles car.
Dominik Kraihamer and Alexandre Imperatori achieved an average lap time of 1’28.837 and a fastest lap of 1:27.986.
In so doing, the #13 Rebellion R-One AER will start tomorrow’s race from the fourth row on the grid.
Alexandre Imperatori – Rebellion R-One AER #13 : «Half way into the session, it looked like we would have to push to get the pole. At the end it turned out our way, I had a pretty good lap and we had enough to stay in front of ByKolles. The race will be another challenge and I hope we will have a clean race tomorrow. »
Dominik Kraihamer – Rebellion R-One AER #13 : «We are ahead of the ByKolles car, it’s positive to be in pole again. We lost tyre temperature whilst I was waiting for the session to start so I couldn’t quite get the pace that we expected. Now we will focus on our preparation for the race.»
Bart Hayden – REBELLION Racing Team Manager : « We are pleased with today’s qualifying session result, our starting position on the grid is where we expected to be. We hope for a trouble free race tomorrow as we target to win our fifth straight FIA WEC Endurance Trophy for LMP1 Teams.»
