FFF Racing shine in GT Asia at Fuji Speedway

FFF Racing enjoyed a fantastic weekend at Fuji Speedway in what was the seventh and eighth round of the GT Asia Series (16-17 July). With a runner-up position in the first race and a victory in the second, the near perfect score moves Edoardo Liberati and Andrea Amici to the head of the championship standings.

The team ran through a solid programme in practice that laid the groundwork for the successful weekend and after lining up ninth for the first race they were able to drive through the field, aided with a great pitstop, to finish in second position.

With the first podium of the weekend in the bag, the challenge for the second race was to overcome the mandated nine-seconds of additional time in the pits compared to their rivals. With this mind Amici knew he had to make the best of his superb pole position and make a break from the front.

Amici was able to pull a gap at the front of the field and following the long pitstop Liberati re-joined the track in third position and was able to pass the front-running duo to take the lead and eventually the chequered flag comfortably ahead.

FFF Racing Team Owner, Sean Fu Songyang, said: “They both drove very very well and made no mistakes and we now have the lead in the drivers’ championship which is fantastic. We’re delighted that we could put on a good show at Fuji Speedway and it was just a great result for the guys.”

The GT Asia series reconvenes in Shanghai International Circuit 19-21 August, 2016.
