Double podium finish for AVF in Spa Race 2

AVF by Adrian Valles celebrated a double podium finish today at Spa-Francorchamps, in the second race of the Formula V8 3.5 weekend at the Belgian venue. After the pole-position scored at a last gasp in Q2, Tom Dillmann took a valuable second position under torrential rain. With this result, the Frenchman stretched his margin at the top of the standings and now has 112 points, while the Spanish squad leads the team standings as well with 140 points. Alfonso Celis Jr captured his best result so far in the series, stepping onto the podium for the first time with a deserved third place finish. The Mexican delivered a solid performance in treacherous conditions.

Alfonso Celis (#15) Q2 P7 2:00.235 – Race 2 P3 +10.277

“I have been fighting for this since the beginning of the season, but for many reasons we couldn’t catch this result. I think that after the hard work made by the team in these two years, also behind the scenes, this is a well-deserved result. I’m pleased of the result especially because it came with the rain. I put everything together without making mistakes. I hope this day will be the start of a better rest of the season”.

Tom Dillmann (#16) Q2 P1 1:59.745 – Race 2 P2 +6.268

“I think we were pretty fast at the beginning of the race when it was not so wet, we had a good call in the pits but I did not have enough speed on the straight, I couldn’t go flat out, but it’s ok. Another podium, more points and we are still leading both championships”.
