World premiere for Competition102 GT4 European Series at Circuit Park Zandvoort

The Competition102 GT4 European Series travels to the Dutch race track in Zandvoort with an extended lineup that features new entries and brand new GT4 cars. Two KTM X-BOW GT4 racers will debut at Zandvoort where the series will be the weekend’s main programme. It will be the battle ground for at least thirty drivers competing with eight different makes like Aston Martin, BMW, Chevrolet, Chevron, KTM, Lotus, Porsche and Sin Cars.

Circuit Park Zandvoort hosts round three and four of the championship after an early start at the French Nogaro race track during Easter. V8 Racing driver pairs Luc Braams / Duncan Huisman and Marcel Nooren / Jelle Beelen each took victory and are currently topping the standings. They are one of the favourites to score well at their home track driving the Chevrolets Camaro GT4.

With over ten Dutch participants, the battle for podium positions will be fierce. Most of them have already competed well at Zandvoort, like reigning champions Bernhard van Oranje and Ricardo van der Ende. They weren’t lucky at Nogaro after brakes failures of their Ford Mustang FR500C and they seek to take revenge. This time the Racing Team Holland by Ekris Motorsport drivers will be competing with the familiar BMW M3 GT4.

After recent delivery and first track tests, ZaWotec enters two brand new KTMs X-BOW GT4. The Austrian team celebrates the world premiere of the race car that has been jointly developed by Reiter Engineering and KTM Sportcar. Austrian drivers Peter Ebner and Sascha Halek will be sharing one vehicle, the second car will be piloted by Daniel Uckermann (GER).

In Nogaro the series already welcomed two new types of cars. The Bulgarian designed Sin R1 GT4 proved to be able to battle for podium positions with the German driver Hendrik Still. Also the new PROsport Performance Porsche 981 Cayman SP performed well.

Tristan and Yorick Boorsma debut at Zandvoort with MDM Motorsport. The two brothers will be piloting a BMW M3 GT4. In the AM category they will challenge Marcus Clutton who will be driving a Chevron GT4. Two new Swedish entries are from Bald Eagle Racing and Ricknäs Motorsport. A Porsche 911 GT4 will join the grid alongside the BMW M3 GT4. Allied Racing, who tasted the GT4 concept last year at Monza, will enter another BMW of the same model. Drivers Dietmar Lackinger (AUT) and Jan Kasperlik (GER) are eager to join the battle in AM division, which is currently being led by Liesette Braams (NED).

Free practice sessions, qualifying and the two races will be live broadcast on the series’ official website and for the first time on the Competition102 GT4 European Series iPhone app. Track action starts on Friday, May 22 and ends on Sunday, May 24 in the afternoon.
