It’s been a difficult day for I.S.R. Racing and Malaysian driver Jazeman Jaafar today at Jerez de la Frontera. After leaving a strong impression in yesterday’s practice, the first qualifying session for the final round of the 2014 World Series Renault brought on-track lots of traffic to tame for everyone. Jazeman was among the drivers hit by this problem, and he qualified back in 21st.
Then in race 1 he was off to a good start, although multiple contacts prevented all the drivers that needed recoveries from fighting back in the early stages. After finding himself stuck at the back of the pack, Jazeman paid the price of the lack of passing opportunities which is typical of the Andalusian venue.
After finishing 14th though, he’s ready to fight his way to the front tomorrow. The action will be back underway at 9:30 for qualifying 2, while teams and drivers will line-up for the final race of the year at 13:50.

“It’s been a difficult qualifying session, I was hold up by traffic and got off sequence. That cost me a lot. Here it’s tough to understand who’s pushing and who’s slowing down. Then the race was tricky too. I passed Ghiotto at the start, but then he moved on me on the back straight and tire degradation was high. Also, the track is short with many aero balance problems when you run close to other cars. In the end, I couldn’t score more than a 15th place”.
