Dopo le prime tre gare del FIA World Endurance Championship (Wec), un fatto è assodato: Ferrari, AF Corse e i piloti impegnati sulle auto del Cavallino sono sempre tra i punti di riferimento per chi vuole vincere. E’ con questa premessa che riparte il Wec con la “6 Ore del Circuito delle Americhe”, ad Austin (Usa), in programma sabato 20 settembre. CATEGORIA GTE PRO Sulla Ferrari 458 Italia numero 51 di AF Corse, ecco i leader della classifica piloti GTE Pro con 90 punti: Gianmaria Bruni e Toni Vilander. L’affiatata coppia è reduce dalla vittoria di categoria nell’ultima “24 Ore di Le Mans” (nell’occasione, insieme a Giancarlo Fisichella) ed ora ha 27 punti in più di Makowiecki e Holzer. L’altra vettura schierata da AF Corse in GTE Pro è la 458 numero 71 con Davide Rigon e James Calado. CATEGORIA GTE AM Dopo il podio conquistato a Le Mans, Luis Perez Companc, Marco Cioci e Mirko Venturi proveranno a guadagnare nuovi punti per migliorare ulteriormente la loro posizione nella classifica Piloti GTE Am (al momento sono terzi con 64 lunghezze); il trio sarà al volante della Ferrari 458 Italia numero 61 di AF Corse ed ha tutte le carte in regola per puntare al titolo. Sulla 458 Italia numero 81, altri tre grandi portagonisti del WEC in chiave 2014: Steve Wyatt, Andrea Bertolini e Michele Rugolo. Rimanendo all’interno della combattuta categoria GTE AM, da sottolineare la presenza al via anche della 458 Italia numero 90 di 8 Star Motorsports guidata da Gianluca Roda, Paolo Ruberti e Jeff Segal. La gestione tecnica della Ferrari schierata dal team americano sarà affidata ad AF Corse. Alla vigilia del quarto appuntamento del WEC, Ferrari è prima tra i Costruttori GT con 153 punti, 12 in più di Porsche. AF Corse è in testa alla classifica GTE Pro Team con 90 punti (+21) e seconda nella GTE Am con 64 (a -29 da Aston Martin).

At the start in the “6 Hour of Americas” to keep the leaderships
