The German Team kfzteile24 Mücke Motorsport scored a podium placing at the FIA Formula 3

The German Team kfzteile24 Mücke Motorsport from Berlin returns from the fifth season event of the FIA Formula 3 European Championship this weekend (20th to 22nd of June) in Spa-Francorchamps with a podium placing and four more placings in the top ten. Lucas Auer (Dallara Mercedes) scored the second position at the season run 13 on Saturday morning (21st of June). The Austrian, who discarded early in race 14 and finished on position 13 at the 15th run on Sunday, defended his overall position three at the drivers ranking, now with the same amount of points like the Netherland (living in Belgium) Max Verstappen (Dallara Volkswagen), who won all three races at the 7.004 km long track in the Ardennes.

Tatiana Calderon finished in the point rankings for the first time. The driver from Colombia, the newbie this season at the racing stable from the German capital city, finished on a great fifth position on Saturday afternoon. Earlier she finished on position 15 and on Sunday on position 18. Last year’s vice champion Felix Rosenqvist from Sweden improved his overall position to 6, after the positions seven, four and nine in Spa-Francorchamps. The Israeli Roy Nissany (all Dallara Mercedes) missed the point rankings in Belgium on the positions 16, 11 and 12.

„The podium placing from Lucas and the performance from Tatiana, which was rewarded with a great fifth position, have been great for our team on this racing weekend in Spa“, team principal Peter Mücke said. „All of our drivers gave their best. Certainly it is very obvious that it is very hard to score a podium placing in this challenging driver’s field, if you are not fast enough at the qualifying session. Then you have to fight for positions, where a lot can always happen.“

We might see that even sharper on coming weekend (27th to 29th of June) at the sixth season event of the FIA Formula 3 European Championship. The runs 16 to 18 will be held on the Norisring in Nürnberg. On this 2.3 km short city course, the Swedish Mücke pilot Felix Rosenqvist holds the lap time record since last year with 48.306 seconds. He won one of the three races in 2013 on this track.
