During the ACCELERATION event in Zolder in July, Jos Verstappen will give a demonstration with an FA1, a 550 hp formula car in which he won the 2006 A1GP of South Africa. On July 18th to 20th, ACCELERATION organizes a three-day event with exciting races, music from the 80s and 90s and a dance festival. Verstappen drove Formula 1 for ten years and got to the podium at the Belgian Grand Prix, exactly 20 years ago. Verstappen is currently focusing on coaching his 16-year-old son Max, who is driving in the European Formula 3 championship. Nevertheless, we still find him in a race car once in a while as well.
The 42-year-old Jos Verstappen lives in Belgium nowadays, and is still the most successful Dutch F1 driver with two 3rd places (Hungary and Belgium GP in 1994 and 107 Grand Prix participations.
On Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th of July, Verstappen will give a spectacular demonstration with an FA1. Verstappen can’t wait to give his demonstration during the ACCELERATION event in Zolder: “It is fantastic that I can entertain the Belgian and Dutch spectators again with a brute formula car, especially since it is 20 years ago that I got to the podium of the Belgian Grand Prix!” The driver will not only give perfect and fast laps during his FA1 demo. “Of course I will make some donuts and practice starts as well”, Verstappen said. Recently, Verstappen was able to meet with his old car again during the AutoWeek Live event in Lelystad. “I enjoyed my A1GP time a lot and I am therefore pleased about the fact that ACCELERATION brought new live into this massive formula car. On top of that, the idea of combining motorsports with an evening music programme is a great idea, I’m sure about that.”

On Friday evening, July 18th, the former Baywatch and Knight Rider actor David Hasselhoff hosts ‘Celebrate the 80s and 90s with The Hoff”. Rick Astley, Sabrina, 2 Unlimited, Vengaboys and Twenty 4 Seven will be some of the artists live on stage. The pre-party starts at 18:00 and we invite everyone to the music area, located in the paddock.
On Saturday July 19th spectators will enjoy ACCELERATION dance, with famous international DJ’s as Bingo Players, Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano, Jay Hardway en Firebeatz. This unique dance festival starts at 16:00.
