ATS Formel 3 Cup – “Stuttgarter Rössle”: Last round ahead of summer break

Only one week after the event at Red Bull Ring, Austria, the young talents contesting the ATS Formula 3 Cup travel to Hockenheimring this weekend for the next round of the battle for championship points in the support programme of the “Stuttgarter Rössle” event in Baden-Württemberg. The MCS Stuttgart has already hosted three rounds of Germany’s fastest single-seater series in the past. Hockenheimring is a favourite among the young drivers. And the ATS Formula 3 Cup will come back to the racetrack in Baden-Württemberg for the season finale of the ADAC GT Masters.

The 4.575-km Hockenheimring is a favourite among many race drivers. And the officials of the ATS Formula 3 Cup like the “Stuttgarter Rössle”. “I appreciate the quick and straightforward decisions when it comes to Heinz Weber’s events,” comments Chairman Bertram Schäfer. “Besides, Hockenheim has been and always will be a mecca for Formula 3!” The drivers contesting the ATS Formula 3 Cup have previously battled for points in the racing series of the Motorsport Club Stuttgart in 2004, 2008 and 2013.

Long tradition at Hockenheimring
The club has been organising races at a regular basis at Hockenheim for more than forty years. The races of the Südwestpokal in the 1970s, previously called “Preis der Stadt Stuttgart”, marked the beginning. Twenty years ago, more racing events were added at Hockenheim. Every event was assigned its own name. The season opener takes place at Hockenheim in early April, with the “Preis der Stadt Stuttgart” following. “The event in June is named after our city arms and our organising team “Rössle”,” explains event and race manager Heinz Weber. “Talking about Hockenheim only would cause a lot of confusion.” The 4th event will be the Porsche Club Days in July.

The “Stuttgarter Rössle” attracts all kinds of motorsports enthusiasts. The programme will include touring cars, European Superkart, Histo Cup Austria, Young Timer and Formula Renault NEC 2.0.
