Three podium placings for kfzteile24 Mücke Motorsport at the FIA Formula 3 European Championship

The German Team kfzteile24 Mücke Motorsport from Berlin scored three podium placings at the fourth season event of the FIA Formula 3 European Championship this weekend (30th of May – 1st of June) on the Hungaroring, about 20 km north-eastern of the Hungarian capital city Budapest. The Swede Felix Rosenqvist finished third at the season race 10 on Saturday and his Austrian team colleague Lucas Auer finished also third at the season runs 11 and 12 on Sunday, when the French frontrunner Esteban Ocon (all Dallara Mercedes) won. On Saturday, the British Tom Blomqvist (Dallara Volkswagen) won the race.

The last race at the premiere for the FIA Formula 3 European Championship on the 4.381 km long Formula 1 race track was aborted after the 17th out of 21 laps due to heavy rain. Nine laps earlier everything looked like a second position for the last years vice champion Felix Rosenqvist, but then he got a drive through penalty through the pit lane because he left the track. This weekend a lot of combatants also had trouble with the same matter. The Swede had a great start from position four and made his way up to position two and finished 17th in the end after his drive through penalty. One position ahead his Colombian team colleague Tatiana Calderon crossed the finish line behind the Safety Car, when the Israeli Roy Nissany (both Dallara Mercedes) missed the points ranking on position eleven.

„All in all it has been a good racing weekend for us with three podium placings as well as two fourth positions of Felix und Lucas. Both showed a great and steady performance again and the speed of the cars was also very good, so the gap to the others hasn’t been too big “, team principal Peter Mücke said. „It certainly has been an annoying penalty for Felix being on position two, but he has been able to gather a lot of points in the two races before.“ Lucas Auer also scored a lot of points and remains on third position at the drivers ranking. Rosenqvist is on position seven now. „We want to try to get even closer to the front of the field at the next runs in about three weeks in Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium“, Peter Mücke said.

The team principal is very happy about the good placings of Roy Nissany, who finished 11th in the third race and 15th and 14th the runs before. „A great result for him as well as his 10th position at the qualifying for the third race in Budapest. He shows a positive trend“, Peter Mücke explained. And also Tatiana Calderon, who finished 15th on Sunday morning, had this position before her drive through penalty (for leaving the track) on Saturday as well and finished 20th in the end. „She drove very well and had lap times that would have been enough for the positions eight or nine. Now she has to get a little bit better at the qualifying sessions“, the team principal of the racing stable from the German capital city said.
