Confermarsi ai vertici del FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC): un nuovo ambizioso progetto per Ferrari e AF Corse. Reduci dai successi della stagione scorsa culminati nella tripletta iridata, la Casa costruttrice e il team italiano si preparano ad affrontare la nuova sfida mondiale con l’obiettivo di confermarsi anche quest’anno ai massimi livelli. Sarà una formazione di vetture e piloti di grande valore quella che Ferrari e AF Corse schiereranno nella classe GTE-Pro a partire dal primo appuntamento in programma a Silverstone nel fine settimana del 20 aprile. Sulla Ferrari #51, il campione in carica tra i piloti GT, Gianmaria Bruni, sarà affiancato da Toni Vilander, lo storico compagno con il quale ha condiviso numerose sfide e la prestigiosa vittoria della 24 Ore di Le Mans nel 2012, in equipaggio con Giancarlo Fisichella. A competere per il successo nella stessa classe ci sarà inoltre la vettura #71 affidata al collaudatore della Scuderia Davide Rigon, in coppia con il pilota inglese James Calado, al debutto con il colori Ferrari proprio nella sua gara di casa, a Silverstone. Due le vetture iscritte da AF Corse nella categoria GTEAm, affidate ad equipaggi d’esperienza: Luis Perez Companc, Marco Cioci e Mirko Venturi correranno sulla Ferrari 61, mentre la vettura “gemella” numero 81 vedrà in azione i piloti Steve Wyatt, Michele Rugolo e Sam Bird. AF Corse si occuperà inoltre della gestione tecnica della Ferrari 458 Italia GT2 #90 del team 8 Star Motorsports con la quale Enzo Potolicchio, Gianluca Roda e Paolo Ruberti parteciperanno alla corsa al titolo della categoria GTE-Am. In attesa di Silverstone, piloti, team e vetture sono impegnati già da oggi sul Circuito del Paul Ricard per una due giorni di test ufficiali che inaugurano ufficialmente la stagione 2014.

To hold firm once again at the front of the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC): a new challenge for Ferrari and AF Corse Off the back of last season’s successes, which culminated in a triple victory in the FIA World Endurance Championship, the Manufacturer and the Italian team are back on duty for the new season with the aim of proving their dominance at the highest level. Top notch and the well-proven cars and drivers will be entered by Ferrari and AF Corse in the GTE Pro Class starting from the first round scheduled in Silverstone (18-20 April). In the first Ferrari 458 which bears the #51, the GT World Champion Gianmaria Bruni will run together with Toni Vilander. The two drivers have been long-time team mates, winning the 2012 24 Hours of Le Mans, together with Giancarlo Fisichella. The 458 #71 will feature the Scuderia Ferrari test driver Davide Rigon and the Englishman James Calado; the latter is a new entry for AF Corse who will fly the Ferrari flag with the Italian team in his home race in Silverstone. No less than two 458s are entered in the GTE Am category with highly rated crews: the car number #61 will be in the hands of Luis Perez Companc, Marco Cioci and Mirko Venturi while in the Ferrari #81 will race Steve Wyatt, Michele Rugolo and Sam Bird. AF Corse will also manage the technical assistance of the 8 Star Motorsports Ferrari 458 Italia GT2 #90 and the trio of Enzo Potolicchio, Gianluca Roda and Paolo Ruberti will lined up to win the GTE Am title. Before the kick of the seasons teams and drivers will first take to the track today and tomorrow with the official collective tests at the Paul Ricard Circuit for the Prologue of the FIA World Endurance Championship.
