Team kfzteile24 Mücke Motorsport scores two victories and two second places at Sachsenring

The number Two was magic for Berlin Team kfzteile24 Mücke Motorsport at the ADAC Formula Masters weekend (7th to 9th June) at the Sachsenring. Races seven to nine resulted in two victories, two runner up places, pole positions and fastest race laps for the German Capitol’s racing team, in action for the ADAC Berlin-Brandenburg. “A fantastic team result for us. Once more, the boys proved their capabilities and made it clear that they’re on the right route” said Peter Mücke whose racing team defended the lead in the team ratings.

The driver ratings, too, are clearly dominated by Team kfzteile24 Mücke Motorsport. Belgian newcomer Alessio Picariello achieved his fifth victory of the season in race eight, despite two safety car phases and in addition scored points as sixth in race seven and seventh in race nine. Hendrik Grapp from Berlin moved up to the third overall place, having won his first race of the season on Saturday. Following a fifth place on Sunday morning, he stepped onto the podium once more in the afternoon, this time as second placed in a strange race with one lap behind the safety car and an additional five laps in heavy rain. He had already achieved this place at the season start in Oschersleben. The 19 year old also drove the fastest race lap in his 145 horsepower strong Formula ADAC racer powered by Volkswagen on the 3.645 kilometre long traditional track, just like his Belgian team colleague Picariello for his victory. “A very successful weekend for me”, so a delighted Grapp reported. “I was able to gain several points for teh championship. And a victory is pretty much the best present I could get after just passing my A Level exams recently.”

Rookie Maximilian Günther (Rettenberg), sponsored by the ADAC Sports Foundation, came in second on Saturday, stepping onto the podium for the fourth time after three previously achieved third places. However, he remained without any points on Sunday (16th, 13th). Being involved in a collision to no fault of his after having started from third place in the morning, he was left with no chance of a top placement. The table lists him in fifth position. Following a 13th place on Saturday, Mücke rookie Kim Luis Schramm (Wümbach) scored his first Formula racing points ever as ninth and tenth on Sunday. His Swiss team colleague Giorgio Maggi finished in places 17, 12 and 16.

It was wonderful to watch Alessio, Hendrik and Maximilian start from the first three starting positions at the first two Sachsenring races. Obviously, it would have been even better if all three would have crossed the finishing line as the first three but a double victory and two runner up places are a fantastic achievement, too“ said team manager Peter Mücke. “We worked hard with the drivers and pushed hard in training, which we now see paying off. Team kfzteile24 Mücke Motorsport now hopes for a continuation of these successes at the fourth ADAC Formula Masters season event which will take place from 2nd to 4th August at the Nürburgring.
